Warts are hard, raised lump on the face, hand or body. There are commonly three types of warts, and they’re all caused by a Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Common or regular warts are those that are found on the face, hand, and body. Plantar warts are those found on the feet particularly on the soles of the feet. Another type is genital warts. But these are usually sexually transmitted.
These unsightly harmless lumps occur when the virus comes in contact with open wounds of the skin. They’re also contagious. So, it’s better to give it an utmost attention than leaving it for anyone to notice. It can spread out, and you don’t want that embarrassing and unattractive lumps to become noticeable.
Warts can be a self-limiting infection. You can do nothing about it as it’s often painless and harmless. But you’d have to endure the discomfort and conceal it as it can leave an ugly remark.
There are several known remedies for warts. You can apply creams, freeze it using liquid nitrogen, use a duct tape, or apply natural oils.

How do you use coconut oil for removing warts?

Gather the following:
- Unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil
- 3% Hydrogen peroxide
- Cotton pads
- Cotton bandage
- Emery board or a nail file
File the top of the wart until it’s exposed using the Emery board or the nail file. If it’s large and raised, you can use a nail clipper or a razor. Carefully cut the top part of the wart so that it’ll be exposed.
Put a few drops of the 3% Hydrogen peroxide to the wart and wait for it to dry. Hydrogen peroxide is an antiviral and antibacterial agent. It helps kill the bacteria and the wart virus.
Warm the jar of coconut oil by putting it in a bowl or a saucepan of hot water. Touch the oil to check if it’s tolerable to be applied on the skin.
Rub the coconut oil thoroughly into the wart.
You can also soak a cotton pad with warm coconut oil and apply on the affected area. Wrap it with a cotton bandage to secure the cotton pad.
Do this procedure up to four times daily or as long as you want. Coconut oil doesn’t have known side effects, and it’s proven safe for topical application.
With regular treatment, you’ll observe the warts vanishing and peeling off. This will be your moment of victory, and they’ll gradually disappear in defeat.
Coconut oil is the safest and the easiest way to treat warts. You can also take 2 – 3 tablespoons of coconut oil daily to boost your immune system. This can also help enhance the removal of warts and improve your skin.
